Clarification 11/26
Today I took Cora to the clinic just to get her levels checked again. They are still low, but holding. She will probably not need transfusion before Friday. We may check them again on Friday just to be sure. I spoke with the doctor in more detail about the conflicting bone marrow results from yesterday. In very basic terms, the pathologist's sample had 50% cancer, but was a VERY TINY localized sample. The flowcytometry sample had 3% sample, but was a VERY LARGE sample with lots of cells in it. She said that the flowcytometry sample gives a more accurate picture and probably the pathology sample just happened to be from an area in which there were many cancer cells. This is potentially VERY VERY good news. It will not change her treatment. It will be 2.5 years. If it's correct, it will put her into the category of early responders which means that the odds are with us! They will repeat the bone marrow check on Monday. Stay tuned then for more results! It looks like the chemo and prayers are working!!! Happy Thanksgiving!

You are always in our thoughts and prayers. Karsyn and I pray nightly for Cora to be cancer free and we are praying HARD!! Sounds like encouraging news concerning the bone marrow counts. Mandy you are so special. Stay strong. God will heal your little Cora. WE LOVE AND MISS HER!! You will be prayed for tomorrow around our Thanksgiving table.
Blessings to all,
The Willards (aka Mrs Liame)
Mandy,
It sounds like you are doing a great job. Don't worry. You will get your Cora back when she gets a break from the steroid. Isn't she on dexamethasone? Are you on the 14day or the 29 day? My son Grant has had both dex and prednisone. The dex pills were green. We nicknamed them the meanie greenies because of the temporary personality change. They also cause a craving for foods that include marinara sauce for Grant. Maybe that's why Cora is craving pizza. For some kids it's Doritos. You are doing a great job, Mom. Trust your instincts and don't worry if you don't think of all the questions to ask the doctors the first time. You can always call back to ask more or even the same ones again! All the terms and tests will come easier as time goes on. Just take it one day at a time. We'll keep praying for you.
Mandy,
We are praying daily for Miss Cora, (before snack, at Circle Time and at lunch). Everyone is thinking about you. Stay strong. We love you both and so does God.
Love,
Cora's Class
Happy Thanksgiving
