sleep time!

Random sleep pictures
I went in to put away laundry and found Cora really sleeping in her sleep mask.  Talk about beauty sleep!

I was short on storage in the girls room.  My FABULOUSLY talented dad built the girls matching platform beds with storage underneath.  Today we finished painting them and put them in their room!  I can't believe Clara is in a big girl bed, but they are loving them!  Thanks so much, Pop!

I wear my sunglasses at night!!! She put herself in bed at like 6:30! I could get used to this!

First Day Jitters

I have a love/hate relationship with the beginning of the school year.  Hate the chaos it brings for a teacher. Hate that my kids are one year older. Love meeting a new class. Love seeing the kids in uniforms with shiny shoes.

This year is going to be great for Cade and Cora! They have AWESOME teachers! Cade's teacher is one of my BFF's! She was actually his babysitter for the first year of his life and her son is Cade's BFF!  He's thrilled to have her!  Cora's teacher is super sweet, loving, and calm.  Perfect for first grade!  Not sure how I'm old enough to have a third and first grader, but that's where we are!  Wishing I could freeze time!

10 inches off for Locks of Love

I love Cora's hair. The post chemo curls have continued to make the bottom of her hair so pretty even as the top grows out straight. It's fun to fix and I never wanted to cut those curls. But it had gotten, SO long and tangly. I mentioned cutting it several times and she resisted! I quit pushing, because she really did work hard for that hair and I understand not wanting to part with it! As summer wore on, the hair because increasingly hard to deal with. A few days ago I showed Cora the Locks of Love website, and she was sold! So yesterday we went and got 10 INCHES cut off of her beautiful hair! Today we popped that ponytail in the mail for Locks of Love and she feels and looks great about it! So proud of her!
                                                                     Before

the cutting of the ponytail....bye bye chemo curls!

looking so grown up and ready for first grade!

I Heart Isle of Hope!

yes, Clara is wearing a Minnie Mouse costume!  don't sweat the small stuff!

Cape May 2012

This vacation was a bit of a flop! We LOVE Cape May! Rob's parents are kind enough to let us borrow their place there every summer. The kids look so forward to it! We arrived on Friday evening. We played Saturday and until about noon on Sunday and then the nastiest summer virus ever got a hold of the kids! It started with Cora, then made it's way to Cade, and eventually Clara. Vacation was filled with vomiting, diarrhea, sore throats, coughing like crazy, an urgent care visit, lots of medicine, high fevers, an ER visit, and ONLY ONE day where someone wasn't sick! Definitely a summer bummer! Here are the few pics we did get!

That was the fun part, here's the rest of the story...

SPA PARTY

For Cora's birthday she wanted to have a Spa Party! We invited some friends in PJs and it was a SUPER day! Can't believe this girl is 6!
                                                             Set and ready to go!

First in lieu of Pin the Tail on the Donkey, we involved Cade for a fun game of , Put the Lipstick on the Brother!  Their blindfolds were the felt sleep masks that they decorated! :)

A game of Spin the Nail Polish Bottle resulted in some very colorful nails!  They took turns spinning. Whoever the bottle pointed to, had to paint one toenail that color! They loved this game!

Karsyn perusing the latest issue of American Girl and enjoying a smoothie while waiting for her mani!

                                                              Foot Soaking!

This nail polish bottle cake was MUCH harder than it looked! Not my finest work, but Cora liked it, until time to blow the candles out at which time she decided to throw a huge temper tantrum for an unknown reason. She locked herself in her room screaming and refused to come out!  The candles were melting all over the cake and finally we let Clara blow them out while Cora cried in the background!  Fun times!
