october 30th- halloween???

OK so we had MAJOR controversy in Savannah this year over Halloween. It was sorta crazy. The mayor declared trick or treating for Saturday night since Halloween was on a Sunday. Who's ever heard of changing Halloween? Our neighborhood, Isle of Hope, isn't within city limits, so our pool board decided we'd still trick or treat on Sunday. Then the county officials declared trick or treating for Saturday night as well. There was lots of Isle of Hope drama as to which night to do it. Everyone had opinions, but the verdict became let's not be rebels and go ahead and trick or treat on Saturday. I honestly didn't care, I just needed to know which night to dress my little ghouls up and take them out. So here it is, one day early, our Halloween review...
cora and a pumpkin of her design

cade and his pumpkin

snow white and her rotten apple! (the apple kept crawling out of the picture)

3 cute trick or treaters (we couldn't talk cade into being the prince)

the apple was good during trick or treating but her face looked like this the whole time! not sure she was diggin the costume!

I realized this is the only group picture I have of our trick or treating group (Harry Potter, a cute fuzzy bunny, Obi Wan Cadeobi, and Snow White. We sure did have fun with them and wish they wouldn't move to South Carolina! :(

ISLE OF HOPERS ARE SERIOUS ABOUT HALLOWEEN!

cora's many costumes

I did not buy Cora a costume this year, because she has an ENTIRE ROOM full of dress up clothes. It's seriously bordering on criminal how many costumes this girl has. The original idea was to wear the Snow White costume that we bought from Disney World last year and never wore. We even coordinated Clara's costume according to that plan. That's what she wanted to do, until the day of her class field trip to trick or treat and sing at a retirement home. That day she opted to be a witch. (keep in mind we purchased nothing for these pictures)

OR the day of her class Halloween party, that day she opted to go as a rockstar!

The third time she dressed up was for the Isle of Hope Haunted Trail and Kids Carnival. This time there was a major costume meltdown and nothing was good enough for her. The final decision...a cowgirl.

AND FINALLY HALLOWEEN NIGHT, SNOW WHITE made an appearance! Whew! This girl and her clothes totally exhaust me, and she's only four! yikes!

Uncle Russ and AUNT Meghan's Wedding!

* warning..long post...lots of pictures.
this may bore you!

Last week we took off to Indiana for the week and played, had fun, and celebrated Uncle Russ's wedding!!! We had a grand time and are having a bit of trouble getting back into the swing of things around here. Here's our week in pictures...
Day 1...Clara gets up close and personal with Gran's cat, Bella. She soon found out that not all cats are clawless like ours. :(

Day 2
Boo at the Zoo with one of mama's BFFs and her sweet boys!
Days 3, 4, and 5 were uneventful, relaxing, and consisted of lots of playing, trampoline jumping, swinging, and such.
Day 6 Daddy and Aunt Lauren finally joined us and we had the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner at the New Harmony Inn. The flower girl and ring bearer were even more excited for the big event, although Cade wasn't sure he wanted to "escort" a flower girl. He was afraid someone in his class would see pictures! :) (august...don't show lee!)
mama and one excited little flower girl pre rehearsal!

cora and natalie taking notes!

the bride and groom!

Cade and Cora with Natalie and Caleb (the bride's adopted brother and sister). These 4 had a ball together all weekend!!! They are exactly the same ages and I'd have love to have sneaked that lil' Caleb in my suitcase and brought him home with me! :)

After the rehearsal dinner, the fun really started!!
And then Cora pulled out her trickiest move... the back bend!!!

THE BIG DAY!!! I was so impressed with this wedding. Russ and Meghan are very cute, quirky, and definitely have their own sense of style. This wedding was a perfect combination of who they are and their uniqueness balanced with a beautiful setting, awesome food, and lots of attention to very minor details. It was perfect for them! I was impressed with all the hard work that Meghan's parents, Meghan, and my mom put into it!

dressed and ready

cora could win a Guiness World Record title...sassiest flower girl ever!!!

Cade LOVED this tux and the attention that came with it! I must say, a little boy with tails did look pretty darn cute!Even Clare Bear got a new dress! Thanks, Gran!

Cade, Gran, and Pop--how cute do my parents look???

Even Clara was all smiles. I think she looks like Rob in this picture!

Cade's signature sliding on the knees dance move!
trying to be like big brother!

Cade's moves were just a tad bit gangsta
Cora requested Lady Gaga and then pouted through the entire song because she didn't have "fish net tights" to dance to it! Where do they get this stuff??? not from me! :)
getting tired, but not to tired for one last hug!!!

OVERALL, great wedding, great fun, great week!
