Georgia Day

Today was Georgia Day at SCPS.  The students all dress up. They can dress like an indian or like a colonial boy/girl. This year the Garola children went with the colonial option.  Cade's worn the same costume for the past 4 years (who knew a Captain Hook jacket from a yard sale would come in so handy!). Cora wore a hand-me down dress from one of my cute students.  She was not happy that I made her wear a scarf on the head, but somehow she agreed. Before school when I took this picture I said, "OK smile, James Oglethorpe (founder of GA) and his wife!  Cora corrected me, "you mean James Oglethorpe and his maid!"

The top ten things we love about our Clare Bear!

#10 - Her crazy curly hair  from who knows where!
#9 - The mischevious smile (stolen from her brother) that totally gives her away when she's about to do something she shouldn't.
#8 - The pouty face she makes right before she's about to cry.
#7 - Her love for her first best friend, her big sis!
#6- Her dance moves.
#5 - The excitement she shows over pasta.  (This I completely relate to!)
#4 - The way she substitutes the letter "L" for the letter "S" in every s word.  (leep for sheep, lose for shoes)
#3 - Her new found love for tutus.  I dress her in clothes and then she picks a tutu to top off her outfit every day.
#2 - How cute she is when she forces her way onto your lap with a book no matter what you're doing.
#1 - We LOVE listening to her sing her favorite song, Happy Birthday!
We love you, Crazy girl!  Happy 2nd birthday!  You add so much laughter to our family!
xoxoxo

Dribble It Pass It Make That Basket!

Cade's playing basketball at the Boys Club this year! He's loving it, but he's got a long way to go to achieve Michael Jordan status. He has made a few shots and I was lucky enough to catch this free throw on camera! :)

Clara's Farm Party!

We had Clara's birthday party today. It's quite difficult being the third child (at least it is in the Garola house). I'm determined not to short change this sweet girl. I started a my first year scrapbook for her like the other two. (It's only half way done.) She's never had a friend over to play. She rarely gets clothes that haven't been previously worn. And she gets far less one on one time with mommy or daddy than the other two did. I was determined that this girl would have a birthday party! And she did! She loves animals, so we opted for a farm party! Her latest obsession is tutus, so we made it a frilly farm party! Nothing too fancy, but she loved it and had a blast! Cora helped me make the stick horses and tutus for everyone.

this girl is ready to party!

farm cupcakes (definitely not my best work! )

hunting for baby animals in eggs!

probably the 16th party this like tikes bounce house has seen!

special guest visitor, Daisy the bunny!

grocery shopping can be a hair raising experience!
