Zoo Atlanta hosted a contest for all schools in Georgia. The rules stated that each class needed to take the classic fable, The Tortoise and The Hare, and update and modernize it including at least one Georgia species of tortoise and an environmental message. The nice thing about fifth graders is that I gave them the rules, divided them into groups, and sat back at my desk and supervised! They wrote the script and the rap, make the background, and the puppets, and pulled the whole thing off! I'm not sure the video footage or editing is winning material, but I'm proud of their effort! (pause the playlist and turn up the volume!)
