OMLETS!

Yay! It's official! One of our hens is earning her keep! We're not sure who, and it was found under a tree, so she didn't get it quite right, but it's an EGG! Rob was getting ready to mow and he saw all 3 of the girls under a tree causing a fuss over something. He went over and viola---an egg! I'm hoping that whoever laid it was explaining how to do it to the other two in chicken speak! How egg-citing!

Everyone wants to pose with this cute little egg!

And just in case you wanted to get a closer look at Cora's cute outfit as well...

Clara for President

Look's like someone's made their presidential candidate decision early...

Sweet, Crazy, Clara

I'm just not quite sure where this girl came from! She has the eyes and hair of her big sister and the smile, fun-loving personality, and charm of her big brother; however, she is definitely cut from her own mold!  She's the craziest, nuttiest, goofiest Garola kid yet.  She's always making some kind of mess and getting into some kind of trouble. We're not quite sure if it's the lack of supervision freedom that comes with being the third child or if it's just God's sense of humor, but we'll take it!

She woke up crying at about four o'clock this morning, so I just climbed in her bed with her and fell asleep.  I woke up around seven to her pudgy little hands holding my face and her wet lips pressed into mine.  She gives me a wet kiss and says pointing to the window, "Mommy, we can wake up now. The sun is happy!"

I never thought it would be possible to love a chicken, but this girl is super sweet

sleep time!

Random sleep pictures
I went in to put away laundry and found Cora really sleeping in her sleep mask.  Talk about beauty sleep!

I was short on storage in the girls room.  My FABULOUSLY talented dad built the girls matching platform beds with storage underneath.  Today we finished painting them and put them in their room!  I can't believe Clara is in a big girl bed, but they are loving them!  Thanks so much, Pop!

I wear my sunglasses at night!!! She put herself in bed at like 6:30! I could get used to this!

First Day Jitters

I have a love/hate relationship with the beginning of the school year.  Hate the chaos it brings for a teacher. Hate that my kids are one year older. Love meeting a new class. Love seeing the kids in uniforms with shiny shoes.

This year is going to be great for Cade and Cora! They have AWESOME teachers! Cade's teacher is one of my BFF's! She was actually his babysitter for the first year of his life and her son is Cade's BFF!  He's thrilled to have her!  Cora's teacher is super sweet, loving, and calm.  Perfect for first grade!  Not sure how I'm old enough to have a third and first grader, but that's where we are!  Wishing I could freeze time!

10 inches off for Locks of Love

I love Cora's hair. The post chemo curls have continued to make the bottom of her hair so pretty even as the top grows out straight. It's fun to fix and I never wanted to cut those curls. But it had gotten, SO long and tangly. I mentioned cutting it several times and she resisted! I quit pushing, because she really did work hard for that hair and I understand not wanting to part with it! As summer wore on, the hair because increasingly hard to deal with. A few days ago I showed Cora the Locks of Love website, and she was sold! So yesterday we went and got 10 INCHES cut off of her beautiful hair! Today we popped that ponytail in the mail for Locks of Love and she feels and looks great about it! So proud of her!
