LIGHT THE NIGHT!
It was so awesome! What a fun, family oriented event for a great cause!!! Thank you so much for all of your "Cora's Crew" team! We had a little trouble staying together in a giant group of 40 plus for the actual walk, but it was so fun to see you all in your shirts! Cora and Cade had a BLAST having all of their friends there! The walk was great, but it didn't really hit me just how much of a difference we were making until after the walk. As we were ready to leave, I saw this woman and immediately recognized her. Her 7 year old son was diagnosed with AML (the other common form of leukemia) the same day Cora was diagnosed. He spent a week directly across the hall from Cora in the hospital. As we shared the same diagnosis day, we watched each other's families suffer with the trauma of diagnosis. She pulled me aside for a second one day as I'd been "melting down" gave me a hug and said, "we're both gonna get through this." I was going to go over and speak to her until I saw her "team shirt" it said, Cody's Angels. I'm walking in MEMORY of Cody. I welled up with tears and walked away as I just didn't have the words in that moment. Then it truly hit both Rob and I as to just how blessed we are to be walking with our girl instead of in her memory. All leukemia patients are not as lucky. We DREAM of a day that treatment for even the most aggressive forms of leukemia will be treatable and curable! We are sorry that Cody didn't get to see that day, but for him and all those others we'll do our part to continue to work and pray for a cure. Thanks so much for all of those who went before us and paved the way for our Cora. And thanks to our wonderful Heavenly Father who for whatever reason chose to give us many more years with our precious sassy little angel! We are so grateful!

ARGH!
This weekend for the first time ever we visited Tybee Island's Pirate Festival. Whoa! It resembled a circus sideshow more than a festival, but it was entertaining to say the least! We took some really cute pirates who completely picked their own costumes.

One of which chose to wear pants that were WAY too small and shortly after this photo he split a hole right down the seat of them. (that's why he's shirtless in the remainder of the pictures)

We saw all kinds of pirate ships.
Some filled with "real" pirates. (notice one of the foursome is missing from this pic, she wasn't too sure about these guys!)

And some we got to jump inside.

We saw all kinds of animals. Apparently pirates like kangaroos.

And a VERY crazy guy doing tricks with a grizzly bear???

There were tiny pirates.

And four legged pirates,

VERY tall pirates! (just the sight of this guy sent Clara into a frenzy!)
And armed pirates with attitude!!! Argh matey!!!

Cora Digs Hot Dogs!
The first month of preschool Cora's class did an all about me unit. The teacher interviewed the class and put all the interviews together in a newspaper format. Here's what Cora's interview said.
Cora Digs Hot Dogs
My mom works out and has lunch with my brother while I am at school. My dad goes to school and teaches and has games of football and stuff. I like to give out my job in the classroom like napkins and cups. I love hot dogs. I don't really like lasagna. I like to dance at my house. I am going to be a teacher when I grow up. Monkey Joes is my favorite place to go and Carson is my favorite friend.
too cute!

baby clara's 8 month update!
I AM ALREADY 8 MONTHS OLD!!! And boy am I suddenly a handful! I am weighing in at a whopping 17 pounds 11 ounces! Mom says I've learned like 3 month worth of stuff in the past month! She wants me to slow down, but I just keep going and growing! Check out my new skills!(pause the play list for this...it's my theme song!)
I can crawl.
I can pull up on things.
I can almost horsey walk on all fours.
I can wave!
I can "love on mama" on command.
I eat real food smooshed up.
I find every tiny speck of anything left on the floor.
I eat every tiny speck of anything left on the floor.
I can pinch things with two fingers.
I can babble all sorts of new sounds.
I can bounce and dance when I hear music.
And I'm real cute!
